Full disclosure: I didn’t want to do this. I was part of a large group, and the only other way down to the end was to go in the bus and wait for the rafts to get there, so I rafted. And loved it! We were given some instructions before we started, and off we went. In early winter the river flow wasn’t high, so our awesome guide got us involved with all sorts of tricks: going down the rapids sideways, backwards, and once even standing up, singing and playing Nepalese stick games with our paddles, and competitive splashing with the others in different rafts. All in all good clean, if somewhat wet and cold fun. I didn’t feel unsafe at any time. Do it!
